今年是MTV台成立的第25个年头，25年前，在首届MTV音乐录影带大奖的颁奖礼中，Madonna演唱的《Like A Virgin》成为MTV历史上经典的片断之一。如果说已经50岁的Madonna和Michael Jackson记录了MTV的光辉岁月的话，今天登台的这些明星们才代表着MTV的现在和未来。
在《Baby One More Time》的歌声中，Britney Spears再次站在了MTV的舞台上，与去年相比，今天的Britney无论是身材还是气色都显得要好了很多。在最近几年经历了很多不愉快的事儿之后，Britney Spears还能以如此好的精神状态站在这儿，本身就已经值得所有人为她鼓掌了。在最早颁发的奖项当中，Britney Spears凭借《Piece of Me》获得了“最佳女歌手录影带奖”。平心而论，这首《Piece of Me》在过去一年中的人气并不如同时获得本项提名的另外两首单曲：Rihanna的《Take A Bow》和Katy Perry的《I Kissed A Girl》，但MTV依然将本届VMA音乐奖的首项大奖授予了Britney Spears，这其中自然包含了不少人情分。作为美国流行乐坛近10年来具有代表性的人物，Britney Spears也是近年来MTV音乐奖收视率的重要保证，近年的VMA颁奖礼当中诸多令人记忆深刻的片断几乎都跟她有关。虽然Britney在去年出丑，但去年VMA班奖礼的收视率却比2006年提高了超过两成。而在去年出丑的开场演出之后，Britney Spears今年再次被MTV邀请担任本次颁奖礼的开场嘉宾，不难看出Britney是如今的MTV手中最为重要的棋子。值得一提的是，这是Britney在MTV音乐录影带大奖当中16次提名之后第一次拿奖，因此，她在上台领取“最佳女歌手录影带奖”时也显得格外激动。
在此后揭晓的奖项当中，Britney又一举包揽了“最佳流行录影带”和“最佳流行录影带奖”，在本届VMA音乐奖所获得三项提名当中，Britney全部命中。目前，她正在积极准备自己的新专辑，预计明年上半年发行。
