CD-adapco JAPAN Co., Ltd.（以下简称CDAJ）于2006年10月在以日本为代表的东亚各国同时发行由CD-adapco公司开发的新一代通用热流体分析软件「STAR-CCM+」的最新版本v2。

「STAR-CCM+」加入了CD-adapco特有的多面体网格技术、操作界面简单易用，是热流体分析工程师强有力的工具。多面体网格（polyhedral）生成方法不仅更快捷、简单，而且相对于四面体网格(Tetrahedral)，耗费更少的内存便能够得到更高精度的分析结果。

「STAR-CCM+ v2」界面非常友好，对表面准备，如包面（surface wrapper）、表面重构(surface re-mesh)及体网格生成（多面体-polyhedral、四面体-tetrahedral、六面体核心网格-trim）等功能进行了拓展，且在并行计算(HPC)上取得巨大改进；不仅求解器可以并行计算，对前后处理也能通过并行来实现，大大提供了分析效率。在计算速度方面，比上一版本v1成功实现了在64位LINUX机器上计算速度提高20%的目标。在计算过程中可实时监控分析结果（如矢量、标量和结果统计图表等）的功能，同时实现了工程问题后处理数据方面的高度实用性、流体分析的高性能化、解析对象的复杂化、用户水平范围的扩大化。为了满足新一代CFD模拟要求，此求解器采用了连续介质力学（CCM）分析新方法，不仅可进行流体分析，还可进行结构等其它物理场的分析。目前 STAR-CCM+正在应用于多达2亿网格的超大型计算问题上，如方程式赛车外流场空气动力分析等项目。

新设计的界面简单易用、分析设定不易出错。从网格生成到矢量、标量及图表等后处理结果的生成都可以用鼠标操作来完成。

搭载了CD-adapco独创的最新网格生成技术
利用独创的最新网格生成技术，在STAR-CCM+强大的前处理界面上，可完成复杂形状数据输入、表面准备－包面（保持形状、简化结构、回避接触、检查泄露等功能）、表面网格重构、自动体网格生成（包括多面体网格、六面体核心网格、四面体网格）等生成网格所需的一系列作业。

采用最新的数值算法
STAR-CCM+支持任意形状的多面体网格，解算器采用连续介质力学（CCM）算法，除进行流体分析外，加入结构等其它物理场的分析功能。在流体分析模方面，全面引入CD-adapco公司已有的非常成熟的通用热流体分析软件STAR-CD中物理模型。利用CD-adapco倡导的多面体网格，可以实现计算性能（相对四面体网格）约3～10倍的提高。

高度实用性工程工具
在STAR-CCM+中采用了服务用户的系统，能够实时监控计算中的结果数据（矢量、标量及统计结果图表），工程师还可将任意分析参数（流量、力、温度等）作为计算收敛条件来使用。

解算器及前后处理器的完全并行化
STAR-CCM+紧扣10亿左右网格的大规模分析为目标，不仅在解算器方面，而且在前后处理器方面也实现了并行化。用户只需在界面上指定机器名和CPU数，就可以全面实现并行处理。
